What Budget HQ is

Budget HQ is a free tool that sorts the lines of your bank statement into categories and helps you plan a monthly budget. It works out figures from what you give it; it isn't financial advice, and it doesn't replace your bank's own records. Check anything important against your statement.

Your figures

Your statements and budget stay on your device (see Privacy), so keeping them is in your hands: download a backup now and then. We can't recover figures that were deleted from your browser or device.

What we take responsibility for

We work to keep Budget HQ accurate, safe and available, and we fix mistakes we're told about. Sorting is a best guess from the wording on your statement, so a line can land in the wrong category until you correct it. Because the service is free and runs on your own device, we aren't responsible for losses that come from relying on its figures without checking them - except where caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct, and always subject to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

Your account

An account is free and is only for Budget HQ. Use your own email address and keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what's done with your account. You can delete it at any time under My account. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms. The Budget HQ team's own account is confirmed through Google; nobody else can act as the team.
